Last Tuesday I sat down with Josh Baker to begin our first podcast series. My iMac and the Go Mic by Samson were the only equipment we needed to get a great recording. GarageBand and iTunes gave us what we needed to pull it together and get it public. The quality of the content of the podcast... well, you can decide.
[Our studio set up kept most of the echoing to a minimum. Software did the rest. Maybe one day we will be able to afford that cool looking foam and some walls to put it on.]

The direction of our podcast will have a bit of local talk and a bit of helping photography clients. We want to bring to light topics that help current and potential clients of professional photographers understand when and how to work with their hired pros. And there will be some tips on when not to use a pro and how to do it yourself.
We have a couple of guests already wanting to join us for upcoming shows. Join us next Thursday as we post the next episode. Have something photography related you want to know more about, let us know and we will try to answer it in upcoming episodes.
Last Thursday, Josh and I collaborated on another adventure. A few weeks back Martina and I attended a session of Capoeira - a Brazilian martial art. I invited a couple of the guys to join us for a test shoot.
I say test shoot, as I have committed to organize another mini'lypse, this time in Texas. I've been a part of organizing three mini'lypses in London and have yet to hold one in the States. So, on the weekend of 13-14 March 2010 it is happening. Ideas for models will be less model-like and more in the lines of real people and their talents. Martial artists, classical musicians, acrobats, dancers and the like will be joining us in locations that are still being determined. So far, Josh has helped tremendously in showing me Kingsbury, TX and it's offerings. A tiny town, but with lots of character. The organization is under way.
Cedar fever has hit me this year. I am used to allergies. I've had them all my life. However, for three years in London and the first two years here I have been allergy-free, so to speak. With the exception of being around cats, cigarettes and hops (yes, beer that is too hoppy gets me), my allergies have been kept in check until... three weeks ago, cedar pollen made my nose completely close up. Austin: live music capital of the world AND allergy capital of the world.
